It
was a dark and stormy night. Sir Lucas Weatherby was hosting a
Halloween party at his country house.
Inside, the food, drink and excitement of the music, were a strong contrast to what was happening outside. There, the wind howled and the rain struck the windows like tiny bullets. Suddenly, lightening flashed, thunder crashed and the lights went out.
Several minutes later, to the great relief of the guests, the lights flickered tentatively and then all was bright with cheerful music filling the air.
This relief was only momentary because a voice cried out, "Oh My God! He's dead!"
Wealthy newspaper tycoon, Sir Lucas Weatherby, died one year ago during his annual Halloween Party. He had been stabbed. Every suspect has been asked to attend a gathering, one year later, in the hope that this added pressure will cause a break in the case.
Two of the suspects, Henri LaCrosse (a famous chef) and Marta Stuart (a girl scout craft specialist) have committed suicide during the past year. Their bank accounts had been about down to zero. Blackmail?
